• Is the property clean?.
• Is the property in good repair?
• If repairs are necessary, ask for dates these will be completed and have this in writing.
• Is the property secure - meeting your contents insurance requirements?
• Is there Gas and electricity? Are these included in the rent?
• Check out the metre box - is there a safety switch?
• If the hot water is electric - is it metered separately to allow for a controlled tariff?
• Is there an existing land-line for the telephone?
• What about a TV antenna - how good is the reception?
• What comes with the property? eg shed, garage and parking space, fridge or washing machine.
• Check the gates and fencing, do they suite your needs?
• Do you have to look after the lawns and gardens?
• What about a pool - who is responsible and does the fencing comply with current regulations?
• Are pets allowed?
